Dr. Vasilev is a board certified gynecologic oncologist, cancer researcher, educator and avid writer regarding evidence based mainstream, alternative and integrative treatment options.
Experience:
Dr. Vasilev has practiced medicine for 24 years and has been on the faculty of three major West Coast universities. He is former director of Gynecologic Oncology at the nationally renowned City of Hope Comprehensive Cancer Center, located in Duarte, California. He has also practiced at 39 different southern California hospitals as an expert consultant surgeon/oncologist.
Dr. Vasilev has published more than 70 peer reviewed medical journal research publications, medical society abstracts/presentations and book chapters and has a peri-operative care textbook published in the field of gynecologic oncology.
Education:
Dr. Vasilev is double board certified in Obstetrics & Gynecology and Gynecologic Oncology, and completed his Gynecologic Oncology fellowship training at Kenneth Norris USC Cancer Center. He received his MD degree from the Keck USC School of Medicine with honors and was elected to the national Alpha Omega Alpha honor society and the Sigma Xi research honor society.
